A single ticket
matched all six numbers in
the Powerball® drawing on
Saturday, March 29, winning more than
$500 million, the lottery company
announced. The jackpot winner
can choose between receiving the $526.5
million prize paid out over 30 years or
a $243.8 million lump-sum cash option. The winner, who
purchased the ticket at a 7-Eleven store
in Anaheim, California, matched the
numbers 7, 11, 21, 53, and 61, with the
Powerball number 2 and Power Play 3x. In addition to the
grand prize, five other tickets won big:
two tickets in Georgia won $1 million
each, one ticket in Ohio won $1 million,
one ticket in Oregon won $1 million and
one ticket in Texas won $1 million. The
next Powerball drawing is scheduled
for Saturday, April 5, with a jackpot
of $47 million, or a $22 million cash
option.
Powerball
drawings are
broadcast live at 11
p.m. ET from the State
of Florida Lottery
draw studio in
Tallahassee. Drawings
are also available
on Powerball.com.
Meanwhile,
the other major lottery game, Mega Millions®,
will be drawn tonight, on Friday,
April 4.
The jackpot stands
at $43 million, or a $20 million cash
option. That prize has
been growing since no ticket matched all
six numbers in the April 1 drawing. The winning numbers
from that drawing were 11, 12, 21, 29,
and 49, with the Gold Mega Ball 3 and a
2X Megaplier.
Mega Millions
tickets are available for
purchase by U.S. residents
on the official www.MegaMillions.com
lottery
website.
