The Costa Rica- USA Foundation for Cooperation, CRUSA offers scholarships to Costa Ricans to obtain a year of study in design, as part of the one-year Interaction Design Program, IDP, of the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, CIID.

The course will start in August 2021. People interested in applying for these scholarships must first apply to the IDP program. Once accepted, they can apply to the CRUSA process. Their deadline is May 7.

According to the Institute, the IDP, an intense one-year curriculum imparts the skills for identifying and exploring opportunities through the design of pragmatic and socially relevant concepts that consider both people and the planet.

‍The curriculum starts by taking the student through topics such as life-centered research, design & ethics, physical computing and machine learning. Students have the opportunity to incorporate their new skills through investigative project work and through collaborations with industry partners.

‍"The program is an effective platform for peer-to-peer learning," the Institute said in its statement. "Following a rigorous selection process, we select people from all over the world and from a wide range of backgrounds. Teamwork, communication and collaboration are just as important as technical and design skills and we place faith in the diversity of experience, thinking and culture."

The Institute is located between Central Ave. & 27 Street at El Carmen District in downtown San José, as the first branch outside of Denmark. More information can be found on the Institute website.
