The British Embassy, in collaboration with British and Costa Rican companies, invites the public to the British Weekend Festival, a celebration of UK culture featuring gastronomy, art, music, and innovation.

This free, pet-friendly event will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Avenida Escazú Shopping Center in San José, starting at noon on both days.

The festival aims to showcase various aspects of British culture, including tea traditions, literature, and academic contributions. It will also highlight innovation and technology in sectors such as science, gastronomy, healthcare, and the automotive industry.

Attendees can enjoy British food stations, tea parties, folk dances, and trivia games to immerse themselves in UK traditions. The event will also feature an exhibition of British brands of vehicles, food, health products and books, among others.

Live performances will include singer Kurt Dyer and the BeaGirls Band, playing classic hits from legendary bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Queen to name a few.

The British Embassy is hosting the festival in collaboration with several private British companies, including Iconic London, DASH Water, Beefeater Gin, Book and Toy, British and Costa Rican Chamber, BritEd, the British School of Costa Rica, Chivas Regal, Glencadam Origin 1825, Mackays, British Motor Corporation, and Rex London, among others.

Recently, the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office announced that Edward Roberts has been appointed as the new UK Ambassador to Costa Rica and non-resident Ambassador to Nicaragua.
