The 60th Copa del Café, a prestigious international tennis tournament held in Costa Rica, concluded with German player Mariella Thamm and American Ryan Cozad claiming championship titles.

The sports event, held last week at the Costa Rica Country Club in Escazú, San José Province, featured over 64 players competing in the under-18 category.

In Women’s Singles, Thamm secured first place with a decisive victory over Ava Rodriguez from the U.S., finishing with a score of 6-3, 6-3.

In the Men’s Singles category, Ryan Cozad secured the championship by defeating fellow American Yubel Ubri with a final score of 6-2, 6-3.

The Women’s Doubles championship was claimed by German Mariella Thamm and American Julieta Pareja. The duo triumphed over Alyssa James of Jamaica and Capucine Jauffret of the U.S. with a final score of 6-1, 6-4.

In Men’s Doubles, Danish players Christian Gronfeldt and August Poulsen emerged victorious, defeating the American duo of Ryan Cozad and Gavin Goode with a final score of 7-5, 1-6, 10-2.

The Copa del Café was recently honored with the ITF Tournament Recognition Longevity Award, celebrating its long-standing tradition in junior tennis.
