A ticket holder and winner of the U.S. lottery  $328.5 million
Powerball® held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, came forward to claim the prize, announced the Powerball Lottery Company.


"I'm thrilled to be celebrating another large Powerball jackpot win in Oregon," said Oregon Lottery Director Mike Wells. "The impact of a win like this not only benefits our state as a whole but has a ripple effect in our local communities."


The winner's ticket with the white balls 14, 31, 35, 64 and 69, plus the Red Ball 23 was sold at the Fred Meyer store in Beaverton, Oregon, U.S.A. The store will receive a bonus of $100,000 for selling the jackpot winner.


The jackpot was reset to its current starting value of $20 million on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.


The current drawing for this weekend is set for Saturday, Feb, 1, 2025. The jackpot is estimated at $89 million, with a cash option of $40 million.



Powerball tickets are also available for purchase by U.S. residents on the lottery’s official website.



International participants can play Powerball and other lotteries through The Lotter website.



Powerball drawings are broadcast live at 11 p.m. ET from the State of Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Drawings are also available on Powerball.com.



The jackpot grows until it is won. Players win a prize by matching one of the 9 ways to win. The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball.


Powerball costs about $2 per play. To play, people should select five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls, then select one number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball. People can choose the numbers on a play slip or let the lottery terminal randomly pick the numbers.


Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump-sum payment. Both advertised prize options are before federal and jurisdictional taxes.






The first game this weekend
Mega Millions® drawing on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, with an estimated jackpot of $59 million or a cash option of $26 million.



Tickets for Mega Millions can be purchased on the lottery’s official website by U.S. residents.



International players can participate in Mega Millions and other global lotteries through The Lotter website, which allows individuals from any nationality to play.



Drawing will be conducted as usual at the WSB-TV studio in Atlanta, Georgia, at 11 p.m. ET. Soon afterward, the draw video will be available on
the Mega Millions website.


Mega Millions tickets cost about $2 per play. Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers - five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball) - or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick.
 

Players win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing. Also, there are a total of nine ways to win a prize in this lottery, ranging from the jackpot down to $2.


Mega Millions jackpot winner will have the choice of a Cash Option or an Annual Payout. Annuity option: Provides for an initial annual payment followed by 29 annual payments.
