Sunday is final day of reversibility for route between San José and Pacific Coast

Due to the end of the half-year school holidays, reversibility will be applied on highway on Route 27*, between the province of San José and the Pacific Coast Sunday.
According to the National Road Council, known as COSEVI, all the traffic on Route 27*, will be one-way from the Pacific Coast to San José from 2 to 6 p.m.
The measure will be applied to improve the flow of vehicles to the capital for those returning from the Pacific coast, officials said. The midyear school vacation always takes place in the first two weeks of July. Many families coordinate their vacations so they can accompany their youngsters on vacation.
The change in the route will start from 1 p.m. each Sunday so that from 2 p.m. all the traffic is toward the capital.
Traffic will return to both directions from and to San José and the Pacific Coast at 7 p.m on the same Sunday.
During the change, there will be traffic officials and light signals to warn drivers.
In addition, during this change, the maximum speed allowed will be 60 kph, so the traffic officials called on drivers to respect the changes in the road.
In case any driver wishes to know the status of the route or request assistance, transit officials have enabled line 2588-4040, or 2523-3300 extension 1021.
Also Monday the downtown license plate restrictions will back in force.
This rule was implemented to reduce the number of cars in the capital. It was suspended during the two weeks of school vacations due to the significant reduction in the number of cars in the capital.
The plate number restriction is applied in San José Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The fine for disrespecting this measure is about $40.
