alert for condom brand Climax

The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate of Regulation of Products of Sanitary Interest, is taking steps to alert citizens about the sale of the condom brand Climax without sanitary registration.
According to the authorities of the Ministry, because this product does not have sanitary registration the people who use this product "may be exposed to serious health risks, since the materials with which they have been prepared are unknown, [as are] the conditions under which they have been manufactured, stored and transported," said the Ministry in its statement.
Individuals or companies that are selling products without sanitary registration are exposed to various administrative and criminal sanctions.
Specialists at the Ministry recommend that the public refrain from purchasing this type of condom.
It is also recommended that buyers verify that the product they are going to buy has the proper Ministry authorization stamps.
"If you have used this product, see a doctor if you have had an allergic reaction to it," said the Ministry in its statement.
The authorities of the Ministry ask that the public report the sale of this product to the local police. Complaints can also be made by phone 2233-2854

On March 5, as A.M. Costa Rica reported, the Ministry alerted about possible gluten contamination in a specific lot of Gorilla Munch cereal.
The cereal is supposed to be gluten-free and is being withdrawn from the national market.
The Gorilla Munch box of cereal weighing 284 grams is registered with the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica in the food category with the number A-US-16-00456.
This product declares itself to be gluten-free, but the manufacturer, Nature's Path Foods, in the U.S. has reported that some batches of their cereals from the Envirokidz line could have been accidentally contaminated with wheat and barley and that they may, therefore, contain gluten.
This is potentially dangerous for the health of celiac consumers or those with some degree of gluten intolerance.
Nature's Path is conducting a voluntary market recall of affected lots.
In Costa Rica, the withdrawal is in the charge Central America Pharma Supply and applies only to lot #058449860020 with expiration date September 21 of Envirokidz Gorilla Munch cereal, of which 1,188 units were imported.
The Central America Pharma Supply company notified the Ministry of Health that it has recovered 345 units from the affected lot and that it keeps 624 units separated.
Work is being done to identify the location of the rest of the units.
Gorilla Munch cereal is offered at Walmart, Más x Menos, AutoMercado and Cristal supermarkets.
Both the manufacturer Nature’s Path and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have published releases about this voluntary recall of cereals for possible contamination with gluten.
The specialists of the Ministry give the following recommendations to consumers:
- Do not consume Gorilla Munch lot 0 5844986002 0 with an expiration date of September 21
- If you have already purchased the product with the affected lot and have not consumed it, return it to the establishment where you purchased it, mentioning this alert.
- If you have already consumed it, report it to Central America Pharma Supply.
