Representatives of the Ukraine came to Costa Rica to negotiate visa system

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that a delegation of representatives of the Ukrainian government visited Costa Rica to consult on the possibility of eliminating the need for visas.
The Ambassador of Ukraine Serhiy Pohoreltsev was accompanied by Ruslan Spirin, Ambassador of Ukraine in the United Mexican States, and Orlando Guerrero, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in San José.
"The delegations exchanged information regarding good practices in the consular field between Ukraine and Costa Rica," said the Ministry in its statement.
The Ministry reports that since 2016, Costa Rica has not required Ukrainian citizens to have a visa to enter the country. The only entry requirement is a passport and it has a minimum validity of three months. At the most, the Ukrainian tourist can stay in Costa Rica for up to 90 days.
The government of the Ukraine proposed to establish a bilateral agreement on the mutual suspension of visas.
According to the official site of the Government of Ukraine, the country became independent from the Soviet Union in 1991. It is the country with the second largest army in Europe with a total compliment of 1,192,000 members. The country has more than 42 million inhabitants according to the census of September 2018. Ukrainian is the only official language, although Russian is widely spoken in the east of the country.
