The annual American Football Game will be held on
Saturday and Sunday at San Joaquin de Flores stadium*
in Heredia.
“Over the years, thousands of players,
participants and fans have experienced the
camaraderie of this fun- filled sporting event,”
said the Costa Rican American Football group in
its statement.
An All Stars team of USA semi-pro players from the
Boston and the surrounding North East region are
here to share their football knowledge and
experience with the Costa Ricans.
A special guest joining the Tropic Bowl event this
year is Jarvis Green who was the ultimate
competitor on the field and now left the field to
become an entrepreneur. Green played college
football as a defensive end at LSU and was drafted
by the New England Patriots where he went on to
play for nine years and collect two Super Bowl
Championship rings.
The program on Saturday starts at 9:00 a.m. with
the following games:
Youth Football Game - Falcons vs Titans.
Costa Rica All Stars Women's Football vs Vilons
team (from Panama).
North East All Stars (from USA) vs Costa Rica All
Stars.
According to the Federation, the Costa Rica
women’s All Stars team is comprised of players
from the three established teams in the country.
Two teams from San José and one from Perez
Zeledon.
