The Ministry of Security reported that, in a
routine patrol near Playa Conventillos* in La
Cruz in Guanacaste, officers found seven bags
containing 193 kilograms of cocaine.
The police report that "the police received
information that on that beach there were several
abandoned bags, which is why they mobilized the
sector where they located the drug shipment."
In this case, the police officers called the
specialists of the Drug Control Police to do the
chemical tests and the confiscation of the drug.
The case will continue to be under investigation
by the agents of the Judicial Investigation
Organization.

confiscated by the police, as it was published in
A.M. Costa Rica on March 18, U.S. Coast Guard
helped in capture of three drug traffickers,
suspects of shipping 140 kilos of marijuana.
The United States Coast Guard and the Colombian
Navy helped the Limón Coast Guard and the border
police intercept and capture the crew of a
speedboat transporting cocaine and marijuana near
the Limón* coast.

An unregistered speedboat named 'The Blessing,'
said the police report, “carrying a crew of three
was intercepted at 6:20 am on Saturday. The
speedboat was 27 nautical miles, approximately 50
kilometers, from the coast of Limón. "
The police detained three crew of Colombian
nationality surnamed Hernandez, Avendaño, and
Brown.
The police also confiscated the boat and the drug
shipment of "600 packages with cocaine weighing
approximately one kilogram each, in addition to 28
packages with marijuana weighing approximately 500
grams each," a total of 140 kilos of marijuana.
The three suspects were sentenced to six months of
pre-trial jail as a precautionary measure.
