The Embassy of
the United States, announced that on Wednesday 27
embassy extension services will be provided in Jaco* and Quepos*, Puntarenas.
Services will be offered to US citizens in:
Jaco Beach, 10 a.m. to noon, in the Civic Center of Jaco*,
located at Maxipalí 700 meters west, on the wide
street.
Quepos Beach, the consular service will be on
Thursday, March 28, from 9:30 a.m. at 11:30 a.m.,
in the Sala Naomi of the Marina Pez Vela*.
Among the services that will be provided are the
renewal of US passports, notary services, federal
benefits, and voting assistance.
Any fee that must be paid must be paid in cash in
colones.
The service fees are:
Renewal of passports: ¢71,500.00 colones (about
$119.52). It is necessary to fill out the DS-82
form and carry a photograph size 2 "x 2", with a
white background.
Only passports valid for 10 years and less than
ten years old will be renewed. Applications for
lost or stolen passports will not be processed,
and no passports will be renewed for applicants
under 16 years of age.
Notarial services: ¢32,500.00 colones (about
$54.33) per stamp. Identification is required.
Federal benefits: replacement of social security
cards and information on material benefits for
veterans, dependents, and survivors.
