The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate of
Regulation of Products, is alerting the general
public to the product 1234 Diet Drops, which is
being promoted and sold on social networks as a
treatment to lose weight.
This product is not registered in the country and
is considered contraband.
According to specialists, people who use products
that do not have sanitary registrations can be
exposed to possible adverse effects since the
Ministry of Health has not evaluated whether or
not they contain toxic substances or irritants,
are prohibited or have been found unfit for human
consumption. In addition, there is no assurance
that they have been manufactured, stored, and
transported safely.
Those who market these products could be charged
with a crime.
Specialists recommend that the public:
- Not import, market or use the product 1234 Diet
Drops.
- Verify that the products to be consumed have a
current sanitary registration issued by the
Ministry of Health, the sanitary registration
number must be printed on the label of each
product.
- Report to the Ministry of Health those
establishments, persons or companies that are
suspected of selling products without sanitary
registration in the country or products that do
not comply with the national regulations in force.
