StraighterLine, a provider of affordable college readiness programs, Campus3 and three colleges in the United States have partnered to create a First-Year Online Value Pathway allowing international students to start studies in their home country while waiting for a visa, save thousands on tuition, and earn up to a year’s worth of university and college credit prior to matriculating on a campus in North America. Participating colleges are:
Fisher College in Boston, MA National Louis University in Chicago, IL New England College in Henniker, NH
Offered 100 percent online, this program combines up to two semester’s worth of online coursework plus additional enrollment assistance and academic support for a savings of up to $40,000 for the first year. Upon matriculation at a participating college, up to a year’s worth of credit can be transferred.
“Attracting international students is getting tougher and tougher,” said Andrew Subryan, Campus3 CEO. “This program lets universities and colleges offer a more affordable option while giving prospective students a potential edge in the study visa approval process.”
“For international students, online learning hits the trifecta,” said Burck Smith, StraighterLine CEO and founder. “Students save money on tuition and expenses, start immediately, and prove their academic ability prior to arriving on campus.”
“With the recruitment of online students being as competitive as it is, it’s only a matter of time until online delivery blends with face to face delivery to create innovations for these students,” said Robert Melaragni, Chief Admissions Officer at Fisher College. “At Fisher, we want to be on the forefront of innovation.”
Rick Yaconis, Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing at National Louis University agrees saying “colleges that continue to have success attracting international students will maintain a competitive edge while adding value to all students. We want to be the premier destination for international students in the Chicagoland area.”
