Due to the increase in tourists traveling through
the airports during Holy Week, the specialists of
the Airport Police, belonging to the Directorate
of the Air Surveillance Service of the Ministry of
Public Security, have a series of tips for
travelers both local and international.
Specialists advise arriving on time at the
airport, carrying only allowed items in luggage
and avoiding jokes about safety in airports as
this can cause delays in their flights, among
other setbacks.
At the same time, it is important that both
nationals and foreigners remember some aspects of
security that could help police preventive work
and streamline any process within the air terminal
at the time of security inspections.
Among the tips provided by the agents of the
airport police, are:
1. Bring in an envelope or carry all the
documentation for use during the trip.
2. Prepare your carry-on luggage in advance and
locate everything you need.
3. Avoid carrying excess wiring, liquids, gels,
knives, lighters or batteries.

4.
Arrive at the airport three hours before the
departure of the flight.
5. Pay taxes, fill out forms, check in, say
goodbye to family members and enter boarding
rooms with at least one hour of time.
6. Inside the airport, be aware of luggage and
people who may be nearby.
7. Make the declaration of the cash that takes
with you, especially if it is more than $10,000
8. Avoid and do not attempt to bring weapons or
firearms in your luggage.
If you are required to carry a weapon, it must
have the respective permit to carry a weapon.
And you must declare the weapon's carry.
