Expo Islands 2019 promotes tourism to the islands of Chira*, San Lucas*, Tortuga*, Venado* and Isla del Coco* in Puntarenas and includes a host of free activities for the public. The Expo begins today and ends on Sunday, March 3rd.
This is the first ‘Expo Islands’ and was organized by the Municipality of Puntarenas together with the Pacific Tourism Promotion Board. During the Expo, there will be activities such as live music, dance, sports, art, traditional games, tour circuits, and food contests, among others.
Juan Rivera, President of the Tourism Promotion Board, said, "this festival seeks to make tourists fall in love with our islands, rediscover them, and admire the exuberant beauty that can only be found on the islands of Puntarenas."
To make the visit to the Expo easier for tourists, a group of tour operators from Puntarenas are responsible for taking visitors to any of the islands. For more information, call the Puntarenas Tourism Promotion Board at 2634 -9148, or send a message to the Board WhatsApp number 8718-2044.
