Social Security signs an agreement for the construction of a new $92 million Turrialba hospital By the A.M. Costa Rica staff Social Security contracted the company Van Der Laat and Jiménez for the construction of the new William Allen Hospital* at Turrialba in Cartago Province. This new hospital will cost $92 million and will be a set of seven two- and three-story buildings. In addition, the contract includes the design, construction, equipment, and maintenance of buildings for two years. The signing of the contract took place at a formal ceremony in which President Carlos Alvarado participated as well as Social Security authorities. According to Alvarado, the new hospital will generate jobs and help in the reactivation of the local economy. In addition, the hospital will have specialized personnel in the care of the Cabécar indigenous community. According to the design of the hospital, the construction area will be 40,000 square meters on 10 hectares with installed for 110 beds, 25 outpatient clinics, an emergency service with four offices and 20 beds in the observation area. ------------------------------ Have you heard of any town that needs the construction of a hospital?
