Government opens contest to give non-reimbursable $1 million to entrepreneurs By

The government, through the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Telecommunications, will give $1 million, non-reimbursable, for small or medium-sized companies, known as SMEs, that are developing technology. The donation will be given to the companies that compete in the Program of Innovation and Human Capital for Competitiveness. This financing is through by The Inter-American Development Bank. Interested entrepreneurs have until June 14 to apply. Fifty innovative entrepreneurs or entrepreneurs will be chosen from the participants. In addition to the support of non-reimbursable financing, development advice will be given to winning companies for one year. The Program of Innovation and Human Capital for Competitiveness has as its goal the formation of advanced human capital in strategic areas such as: environment and water; energy; food and agriculture; health; info-technology; biotechnology; nanotechnology; cogno-technology; biomedical devices; aerospace engineering; communication services and technologies; and digital information and services.
