Government seeks to attract investors from Turkey By

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a mission of Costa Rican authorities made a presentation on the advantages of investing in Costa Rica to possible investors in Turkey. Gustavo Campos Fallas, Costa Rican ambassador in Turkey, and Jorge Zamora, Director of the Commercial Office in Madrid, Spain, held a seminar on business opportunities and the investment climate in Costa Rica before the members of the Council of Foreign Economic Relations of Turkey, in the city of Istanbul. According to the Ministry, the Turkish Council has registered more than 250,000 companies, plus the business chambers of all economic sectors of Turkey. This represents 95 percent of entrepreneurs in that country. In the seminar offered by the Costa Rican specialists, more than 61 representatives of Turkish companies were interested in investing or doing business in the country and also selling products made in Costa Rica. The Ministry says that at the meeting there were representatives of sectors such as industrial agricultural equipment, tourist transport, international corporate finance, construction, and energy, among others. The Costa Rican authorities invited the potential investors to BTM 2019, which is the mission of buyers in Costa Rica to be held in the country. "With the support of videos about the Essential Costa Rica brand, which were showed the exuberant natural beauty, we talked about the customs issues, shipping logistic procedures, the new Container Terminal in Moín and the port negotiations with Europe to facilitate the transit and competitiveness of our products in addition to studying a cooperation to facilitate coordination and exchange of information, " said the Ministry in its statement. Finally, the representatives of the embassy in Turkey reported that they have a group of companies with specific offers, which they will start working on the follow-up. Diplomatic relations between Costa Rica and Turkey were established in 1950, with the accreditation of Mr. Vedit Uzgoren as the first ambassador of that country in Costa Rica. According to the Ministry, Turkey is a member of the G20, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and is the 13th largest world economy in the world, with a market of approximately 83 million inhabitants. ------------------ What is the best asset Costa Rica has to attract investors from Turkey?
