Federation invites you to the second round
of the SUP RACES National Paddling Tour,
this Saturday, at the Mystic Lakes*, at
Hermosa in Jaco Beach.
These are the flat waters of the extensive lakes of the private housing project in Hermosa Beach which opened its doors to the best flat waters paddlers of the championship so that they define the points of a ranking that closes next November. This will be the second round of five in total. According to Marcel Oliveira, current National Champion, and who has already trained on these waters, "the paddling in confined water feels totally different. The board on which you are paddling feels much more, so your attention to the technique is greater. In this case, the route will be very fast and explosive, which is why we are preparing ourselves more." The categories for this date will be boards of 14.1 feet and 12.6 feet for both genders (male and female competitors) and will include six kilometers of paddling. In the case of the recreational competitors, they will be paddling 3 kilometers. The competition starts at 8:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 11:00 a.m. After the competition, there will be free clinics for the public. "Sign-up for the clinics are at 8 a.m. and at 10 a.m. in the main entry," said the organization’s staff in a statement. This event will have the participation of special sponsors such as Roxy and Quiksilver brands representatives who will give prizes to the public. After the awards, there will be an after-party with a DJ. The sign-ups for the event will be on Saturday from 7 a.m. at the main entrance of Mystic lakes. According to the Federation, the top 3 rankings are: - Men in Table 14 feet: Marcel Oliveira, Gilo Soto, and Michael Gutierrez. In 12 foot table: Rolando Herrera, Alvaro Solano, and Jefferson Tascón. - Women, the first places are, in table 14 feet, Valeria Salustri and Eileen Pitti, and in the 12-foot table, Michelle Fuentes, Maja Magnusson, and Lucía Castro.
