Experts warn about the drug EnerVid for erectile dysfunction |

The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate of Regulation of Products of Sanitary Interest, is alerting the public about an adulteration of the food supplement Ener-VID, which is manufactured by the El Maná Laboratory Laboratory analysis carried out by the Laboratory of Analysis and Pharmaceutical Advice found the presence of Tadalfilo, in the product. "This chemical is not declared on the label within the list of ingredients, nor in the documentation presented to the Ministry of Health for sanitary registration, therefore it is an adulterated product," said ministry in its statement. Specialists state that drugs containing Tadalfilo are used for erectile dysfunction and are contraindicated in patients with hypertension or uncontrolled hypotension, with acute myocardial infarction, uncontrolled arrhythmias, and a history of stroke, among other disorders. Products containing Tadalafil also have numerous interactions with other medications, which can cause the occurrence of adverse reactions. It is of utmost importance that they are taken under prescription and with medical follow-up. The use of products with Tadalfilo in their formulation presents a serious health risk in people who have not been previously evaluated by a doctor, since there is a certain degree of risk of cardiovascular events, including myocardial infarctions. The presence of this compound in a product confers it the status of a medication not a supplement because it can exert a pharmacological action in the body of the person who ingests it. That is why those medicines with Tadalfilo must be sold under medical prescription and not as a supplement. |

"This product that is found for sale in points of sale in the national territory, hides the consumer's true composition and safety, exposing the person who consumes it to a significant risk to their health," said ministry in its statement. The Ministry adopted the sanitary measure of prohibiting commercialization and the recall of the Ener-Vid® product prepared by Laboratorio El Maná. Specialists advise the public, not to consume this product and denounce the stores that sell the product.
