 President Alvarado will travel to the U.S. next week

President Carlos Alvarado will travel to California between March 10 and 15 with the goal of promoting foreign investment in the country.

This will be the President's fourth trip during these first months of the year. Between January 21 and 25, he traveled to Switzerland, from January 26 to 27, he traveled to Panama and on February 20, he went back to Panama.

The Presidential House reports that the president’s agenda includes meetings with leaders of technology companies in Seattle and San Francisco, and in Silicon Valley.

During those meetings, the president hopes to promote the advantages of Costa Rica as a key venue for multinational companies.

"The visit seeks to promote the advantages offered by Costa Rica to be considered as a key location for leading multinational companies in the sectors of digital technologies, corporate services, and technological manufacturing, which will generate quality jobs, knowledge transfer, linkages and transformation of the economy," said Presidential House on its statement.

Nancy Marín, Minister of Communication, said that, in addition to those meetings with American businessmen, "President Alvarado will visit Stanford University to present the de-carbonization plan."

This will be the President's fourth trip during these first months of the year.

President Alvarado will be accompanied by a delegation of four high key officials: Jorge Sequeira, General Manager of Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives, Gabriela Castro, Investment Director, Dyalá Jiménez, Minister of Foreign Trade and Luis Adrián Salazar, Minister of Telecommunications.
