Music, movies, theater, horse-oxen parades, typical dances and food are some options this weekend By

This weekend there is a wide range of artistic and cultural activities in almost all the provinces of the country. Here are the detail of the activities: In Alajuela*, the Festival of Tell-Stories is presented in the theater of the municipality. The functions are today and Saturday at 7 p.m. This is an activity recommended for all ages. Admission is free. More information at 8835-5998 In Heredia*, the RecreArte 2019 Festival takes place, presenting music, theater, workshops, a handicrafts fair and typical dance and food. The fair is in three places simultaneously, in Heredia Central Park, at the El Carmen Community Park and at the Los Angeles Community Park from Friday until Sunday. The fair starts at noon. More information at 2277-1400 or 2277-6700. The Maiz Matambú Festival is presented in Guanacaste. This is a cultural activity where visitors can taste traditional dishes from the province. The fair is Saturday, starting at 10 a.m., in the community hall of the indigenous territory of Matambú*, located in Hojancha, Guanacaste. More information at 8638-8890 In addition, also in Guanacaste, there is a Municipal Band concert Sunday at 7 p.m., in the Park of Liberia*. Activity is open to the public. In Limón, a concert with the Band of the University of Costa Rica of the Caribbean region is today at 6 p.m. at Galeria del Pasaje Cristal* on the Boulevard of Limón Centro. Free entrance. In Cartago the Popular Festival of Llano Grande* will be held with horses parade, truck parade, Mexican mariachi music contest, an oxen parade, typical dancers and food. The show is Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m., at the Dance Theater, located at the National Center of Culture. The price of the ticket is $4.50. More information is at 2223-3319. The play "La Plancha," co-produced by the Slovakian Costa Rican community Priekopník Veverička, is Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m., at the Theater 1887. Admission is $6. The European Film Festival 2019 is at Cine Magaly. Films from Spain, Great Britain, Italy and France, among others, will be shown. The festival is a week long and ends Friday, July 19. Among the films to present include “Pain and Glory” with Antonio Banderas, “Peterloo” with David Bamber and “Blinded by the Light” with Viveik Kalra, among others.
