Social Tourism of America Fair will take place in Costa Rica By the A.M. Costa Rica staff Social Tourism of America Fair is a model of tourism with humanitarian principles. It seeks to encourage companies and organizations to develop programs, projects and activities, and proposals that integrate humanistic, sustainable, pedagogical, cultural, respect, solidarity, integrity, and dignified life in their structure. Under this context, the launch of this model will be carried out with the Costa Rican seal of "Social Tourism with Integrity", during the Fair which will take place at the Convention Center of Costa Rica in Heredia*, from June 13 to 14. Ricardo Ureņa, coordinator of the Social Tourism Program and the meeting said that "Costa Rica is developing a model of social tourism with integrity to all people regardless of their social status, nationality, age and can enjoy and access the sustainable tourist attractions of our country." The announcement of Costa Rica as the host for the Meeting of the Americas took place in January, at the Fitur International Fair in Madrid, Spain. Recently, as A.M. Costa Rica reported on May 24, the Tourism Institute was presenting their tourism offerings at the IMEX fair in Frankfurt, Germany. "IMEX is one of the most important international fairs in the world and brings together exhibitors and buyers of congresses, conventions, and events, which took place from 21 to 23 May," said the Institute in its statement. Costa Rica participates with a stand of 80 square meters, with a design based on wood, with huge format graphics that show images of the country, videos and areas of attention to buyers. On this occasion, as an innovative element, co-working spaces were made for the buyers, totally designed with images and key promotion messages on Costa Rica. On March 7, the Institute was promoting the country in the ITB tourism fair in Berlin, Germany. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the Costa Rica stand-cafeteria was shared with business partner Lufthansa airline and included executives from 38 tourism companies plus executives of Institute. Maria Amalia Revelo, Minister of Tourism reported that ITB Berlin could be visited by 110,000 people during weekdays and 160,000 on the weekend. It is the largest tourism fair in the world, with 79 percent of the professional buyers who visit it from European countries, but that others come from America, Asia, and other continents. Statistics from the Ministry, provide the following data on European tourists: - In 2018, there were 480,102 tourists from Europe. - Of that total, 74,574 were Germans tourists. - Germany is the most important tourist market in European countries. - The second place is the United Kingdom with 74,338 tourists. - The third place in France with 74,032 tourists. - On average, Germans stay in the country an estimated 16.7 nights. - With regard to spending, on average to German tourist spends $143.16 per day. ---------------- What could be the best attraction in Costa Rica for tourists?
