President Alvarado starts tour to Germany
to meet German Chancellor Merkel

On the first day of his tour to Germany, President Carlos Alvarado will meet in Berlin with Federal President Frank Walter Steinmeier and later with Chancellor Angela Merkel.

According to the president's agenda, they will discuss issues as employment, education, and immigration in the meeting.

"Germany has the most advanced employment intermediation system in the world," said President Alvarado.

The goal of the president's trip is to expand cooperation between the two countries.

After meeting with Merkel, the president will give a speech at the Chamber of Commerce Association about investment opportunities in Costa Rica.

The president is traveling with:

- Manuel Ventura, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

- Dyalá Jiménez, Minister of Foreign Trade

- Luis Adrián Salazar, Minister of Science and Technology

- Lydia Peralta, Minister of Telecommunications

 
President Alvarado and  his delegation will be finish the tour in Germany on Wednesday and then to El Salvador to attend on the inauguration of new Salvadorian president President-elect Nayib Bukele on Saturday, June 1.

Also this year, as A.M. Costa Rica reported, the president toured in the U.S. from the 10th to the 15th of March, visiting some of the country's most important company looking for investment for the country.

President met senior executives from Starbucks, Microsoft, Amazon, Virtual Human Interaction Lab at Stanford University, Google, Samsung, Hewlett Packard, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the World Economic Forum.

On that tour, the president traveled in the company of Jorge Sequeira, general director of the Costa Rican Coalition of Initiatives and Dyalá Jiménez, Minister of Foreign Trade.
