Interpol Canada alerts on child
pornography production and
distribution in the country

Agents from the Ottawa Interpol Agency alerted the Judicial Investigation Organization about a man suspected of spreading child pornography from Costa Rica.

The Canadian agency detected a website where pornographic material including child porn was broadcasted and generated from Costa Rica.

According to judicial agents, the response to the alert was given on Wednesday, when the police raided the suspect's home, a 33-year-old Costa Rican surnamed Ortega who lives in the San Francisco District in Heredia Province.

According to the judicial agents, in addition to the arrest of the suspect, equipment such as computers, cell phones and other devices were seized as evidence for the investigation.

The man was taken to the cells of the Public Ministry where he was interrogated by the judicial agents and after that, he must wait until a judge orders the pre-trial measures against him as a suspect in committing the crime of Possession and Dissemination of material with child sexual content.

The judicial agents calls on the people to report any suspicion of child pornography to the confidential phone line 800-8000-645, where there are bilinguals agents who can answer calls in English or Spanish.
