Health and Wellness is the strategy to attract tourists

The Tourism Institute announces free courses led by international Wellness and Health Tourism experts to learn new ways to attract tourists.
According to the Institute, the goal of experts is to teach new business ideas, giving advice and recommendations to entrepreneurs interested in attracting health and wellness tourists.
The institute has been developing promotional campaigns for the country as a unique destination of wellness and health services, called “Wellness Pura Vida.”
Precisely the reconnection with nature, the search for the essentials and recharging energies, will be attractive for national tourists who begin to travel, as well as for international tourists when they can return to our country, said the institute in its statement.
The courses will be available on the ictcapacita.go.cr platform with chats in English and Spanish.
On the platform, 11 videos are displayed with updated information from experts on subjects as the basic principles of Wellness, the available wellness resources of Costa Rica, promotional strategies, information on the European and American markets, the design of products, the difference between the spa and the Wellness, among many other topics.
The international experts who will also give talks are from the wellness tourism consulting firm Resources for Leisure Assets.
Among the courses are Wellness Tourism Strategy, Spa Design, Spa Feasibility and Financials.
In addition to courses in strategies to attract health tourism, there will also be training for the prevention of covid-19.
Today, the training of the Spa and Wellness Tourism Activities Protocol will be developed in the platform.
The last course will be published on Friday, June 12 at 10 a.m. with training on Wellness Tourism Activities.
The courses are enabled on the platform of the institute.

On June the institute announced the new free digital platform for tourism entrepreneurs
provides training for the implementation of security
standards.
The goal of the platform is to provide training and
clarify doubts on different topics to improve business
management, quality, and cleaning and sanitation
standards to provide safe services to tourists. Most
recently, a focus on how to be better prepared for the
business reopening stages during the pandemic.
The platform entitled ICT- CAPACITA offers more
than 100 courses, among the topics are: soft skills
for tourism companies, handling complaints, wellness
tourism, Costa Rican general culture, linking local
companies with local suppliers, general sanitation
aspects for tourist activities from covid-19, and
general measures to operate a restaurant in times of
covid-19.

English language can be reached at the institute
web page.
"The new courses will be gradually opened, for
which the different sectors will be invited to
participate promptly," said the Institute in its
statement. "It is important to indicate that some of
the courses will have a test to pass and then users
will be able to download a participation certificate."
In addition to the courses, there will be talks on
topics such as:
• Tools to reinvent
yourself in times of change
• The power of
positive thinking and managing emotions in uncertain
situations
• Quality of
services in hotels, restaurants, agencies and thematic
activities
To access the platform, entrepreneurs must register on
the website and complete the required data.
In addition to tourism professionals from the
Institute, other organizations worked on the design
and themes of the platform, such as the Costa Rican
Association of Tour Operators; the Costa Rican
Association of Tourism Professionals; the National
Chamber of Tourism; the Costa Rican Chamber of Hotels
and the National Ecotourism Chamber among others.
