Four suspected of homicide and casino robbery jailed

Agents of the Judicial Investigation Organization have arrested three men suspected in the murder of a security guard and the robbery at the downtown El Dorado casino in April.
According to the agents' report, the suspects are four men surnamed Balmaceda, Quinones, Diaz and Flores.
This last suspect, Flores, was already jailed in La Reforma prison for another crime that happened after the casino robbery, agents said.
The other three suspects were taken to the Public Prosecutor's cells, where they continue to wait for a judge to order the pre-trial measures against them.
According to the agents' preliminary report, the crime and robbery happened in April, when seven men arrived at the casino located in downtown San José, where they threatened casino clients with guns and robbed the casino cashiers as well as the customer's belongings.
According to the agent's case, the murder happened when the security officer, surnamed Castro, saw the robbers and tried to intervene. Castro was wounded by gunfire four times in the chest. He died at the scene.
According to David Corrales, head of the Homicide Section, “at least 10 more subjects entered the casino to carry out the robbery and steal customers' belongings, such as cash and cell phones. They also stole 25 million colones (about $42,762) from the casino cashiers."
The raids were carried out at the homes of three of the suspects in San José, where cash, cell phones, and other evidence that were evidence in the case were seized, said the judicial agents.
The judicial agents reported that more arrest related to this case can be made.
